What we do
eCPD Webinars enables busy and committed professionals in language-related industries to learn from the top experts in their field and to improve their careers, all from the comfort of their home or office.
 We do this in two ways:
eCPD Webinars is dedicated to language professionals and to anyone working in the language industry, including translators, interpreters, terminologists, project managers and those working in areas such as localisation, subtitling, and technical writing.
- Our company is run by language professionals for language professionals.
- Our speakers are drawn from a pool of experts in their field.
- Our events currently attract attendees from all over Europe, North America, South America and Australasia.
- We are regular contributors to key industry publications on topics related to professional development for translators and interpreters.
- We are the only company to run online events on behalf of the American Translators Association and the UK's Institute of Translators and Interpreters.
Who we are
eCPD Webinars is a limited company (legal name eCPD Ltd). Our head office is in West Sussex in the UK, with regional offices in Brisbane, Australia, and Barcelona, Spain. We are supported by a team of speakers from all over the world.

Managing Director
I have been in business for over 30 years, and for the past 22 have operated a successful commercial and industrial translation business.
I am a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, an associate member of ITI, and was one of the first to attain the newly created professional chartered status for linguists.
In 2009 - 2010, I instituted a series of webinars for the Chartered Institute of Linguists and drove forward a dynamic programme of professional development. I went on to found eCPD Webinars in 2010.

 I am a published literary and subtitle translator, working from English, Catalan and Spanish into English and Spanish.
I am a member of ACEtt, an association for literary translators in Spain, and Àptic, an association for translators and interpreters in Catalonia. Based in Barcelona, Spain, I joined eCPD Webinars in 2012.

Our speakers are hand-picked from a pool of experts all over the world. Many are well known in the language industry.
We are always looking for experienced speakers to present on a range of relevant and exciting topics. We provide full support and training on the specifics of speaking on a webinar. Please do get in touch if you have any suggestions.
Company history
e CPD Webinars was formed in April 2010 in response to an increasing demand for hassle-free, flexible professional development (CPD, also known as PD, continuing education or lifelong learning). This followed the resounding success of a series of webinars run by ManagingDirector and founder, translator Lucy Brooks. Lucy, an established professional translator and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, was joined by co-founder Anne de Freyman, and later, in February 2011, by Sarah Dillon. Sarah left the company in March 2013.
