About eCPD Webinars

What we do 

eCPD Webinars enables busy and committed professionals in language-related industries to learn from the top experts in their field and to improve their careers, all from the comfort of their home or office. 

We do this in two ways: 

• By offering a programme of relevant events directly to individual linguists. 
• By organising and promoting events on behalf of organisations and companies.

eCPD Webinars is dedicated to language professionals and to anyone working in the language industry, including translators, interpreters, terminologists, project managers and those working in areas such as localisation, subtitling, and technical writing. 

• Our company is run by language professionals for language professionals. 
• Our speakers are drawn from a pool of experts in their field. 
• Our events currently attract attendees from all over Europe, North America, South America and Australasia. 
• We are regular contributors to key industry publications on topics related to professional development for translators and interpreters. 
• We are the only company to run online events on behalf of the American Translators Association and the UK's Institute of Translators and Interpreters.

Who we are

eCPD Webinars is a limited company (legal name eCPD Ltd). Our head office is in West Sussex in the UK with a regional office in Brisbane, Australia. We are supported by a team of speakers from all over the world.

I have been in business for over 30 years, and for the past 21 have operated a successful commercial and industrial translation business. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists, and was one of the first to attain the newly created professional chartered status for linguists. I have recently also joined the Institute of Translation and Interpreting as an associate.

In 2009 - 2010, I instituted a series of webinars for the Chartered Institute of Linguists and drove forward a dynamic programme of professional development. I went on to found eCPD Webinars in 2010.

I am a highly qualified translator with almost ten years' translation experience (French, German and Spanish to English), known to many translators through my blog "There's Something About Translation".

I joined eCPD Webinars in early 2011. I am a member of the Australian Institute for Interpreters and Translators and the Chartered Institute of Linguists, and an associate of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting. Originally from Ireland, I am currently based in Brisbane, Australia.
