Revising translations – how to offer a professional service

What is the difference between revising and editing? And where does proofreading come in? This webinar sets out to address and answer these and other questions and to explain what revision involves and how to go about it.

The webinar will focus on the practical skills involved in the task of revising translations, including working with translation companies. The aim is to help participants to provide a professional service to potential clients, with particular reference to client needs. The various terms commonly used to describe this work will be defined and clarified, with reference to the international standard BS EN 15038. Key revision elements such as consistency, house style and punctuation will be discussed, and a list of useful reference documents and publications will be provided. Examples of revision will also be given.
