Martin Djovčoš is a lecturer at the Department of English and American Studies, Division of Translation and Interpreting at the Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica, Slovakia. His teaching and translation/interpreting research currently focuses mainly on sociological aspects of translation, patterns in intercultural communication, translation criticism and cognitive aspects of interpreting. He is the author of Kto, čo, ako a za akých podmienok prekladá: prekladatel’ v kontexte doby (Who and what translates, how, and under which circumstances: Translators in the context of their time, 2012) and, among other articles, he is a co-author of Aphasia and Interpreting: Aphasia-based interpreting exercises (2013). He is a professional interpreter concentrating on neurology, speech and language therapy and international affairs.
