A Review of Remote Interpreting Platforms
Remote Interpreting is a hot topic in the interpreting community nowadays. Our presenter Maha El-Metwally has been testing remote interpreting platforms for a while now and recently had the opportunity to augment this experience through direct contact with the providers of six platforms. In this webinar, Maha will list the features, pros and cons of each of these platforms to help interpreters better understand what is involved when working through these platforms.

Maha El-Metwally, MCIL and Chartered Linguist, is a conference interpreter for the languages: Arabic (A), English (B), French and Dutch (C). She works for a wide range of international organisations, including the European Institutions and the United Nations. She is a member of the International Association of Conference Interpreters (AIIC), the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) and the American Translators Association (ATA) where she serves on the Leadership Council of the Interpreting Division. She is also a Board member and member of the Admissions Committee of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI).
Maha has an MA in interpreter training from the University of Geneva. She is associated with a number of universities both in the UK and abroad where she gives professionalisation talks. She is passionate about technology in the field of interpreting and offers courses on the subject.

Each webinar earns one hour of CPD (ATA approved for one point). Our webinars and courses are accredited by the CIOL and by the Dutch Bureau Wbtv as ‘erkende opleiding’ (approved training). ITI members may also log these webinars as CPD hours. The same is true of most other professional institutes.
