To book a course
If you have an account, log in to it first. If you don’t have an account simply browse for the course you want and make your purchase(s) by clicking "add to cart" then "checkout”. You will be directed to a secure payment site where you can pay by credit card or by Paypal. Once you have paid for the course you will be returned to a "payment confirmed" page, on which you will need to complete the purchase by adding your email and other details (or checking that they are still correct) so that we know who you are and can allocate your purchase to your account. You are also invited to register with GotoTraining or GotoWebinar for the future course and we will send a confirmation and official receipt as soon as possible after you have completed all the formalities - often the same day.
About our coursesWhat is a course? Often building on an earlier introductory webinar, our courses consist of a series of sessions, usually held at the same time each week (this may vary). You will be required to attend the full course, either during the live sessions, or by viewing the relevant recordings. We use the GoToTraining software for these courses, which provides a more intimate feel for our users than the webinar environment. Student numbers are limited and there is scope for more interaction with the trainer. There is also a document download section on the user interface.
Why should I attend? Our courses are high-quality cost-effective professional development opportunities enabling you to dig more deeply into a subject relating to a translator’s or interpreter’s work. You can attend them without moving from your desk, and if you cannot make the live session, you can view the recordings at a time convenient to you.
How do I register? From the relevant page on the eCPD website you can very easily pay for your course and register on the course platform. Once the payment has been processed in our back office, you’ll receive a link so that you can attend the first session of the course.
What about points for my CPD record? If you complete the course and the exercises you will receive a certificate of attendance which you can attach to your individual CPD record.
How to join a course?On the relevant day, simply click on the link which you have received in your confirmation email, ten to fifteen minutes in advance of the start of the class. You will be automatically connected to the session via the web app. You will then need to grant the software access to your microphone and speakers. We recommend that you switch to the desktop version, but this is my no means required. Use the same link to attend all of the sessions. Lost links can be resent, but please tell us in good time to avoid any delays.
