The German Legal System for translators Module 3: DE-EN translation workshop
An Insight into what legal translators need to know about the law, the legal process and their role within it
The language of law may appear incomprehensible and untranslatable, but actually it is not. However, the world of legal translation is rather different from other kinds of translation and translators who do not appreciate this are unlikely to succeed.
Module 2 (DE-EN translation workshop)
The trainer chose four different texts for this translation workshop: a confidentiality agreement, an extract from Articles of Association, a definition of different homicides under German law, and some advice on exclusion clauses.
