Speaker

Paul Urwin is a languages entrepreneur, speaker, coach and digital author with many years’ experience in the fields of translations, language teaching and voiceovers. He was educated at Wellington School, Imperial College London and RWTH Aachen. A former fund manager at companies such as Barclays Global Investors, and top-performing salesperson within the world of direct selling, Paul helps translators and interpreters understand financial and sales concepts and apply successful business strategies to their own operations.

He is currently CEO of 100 Percent Languages Ltd., a UK-registered holding company specializing in language services worldwide and Director of Inglés Bogotá, one of Colombia’s premier Language Service Providers (LSPs) offering language instruction, translations, conference interpreting and voiceovers. Paul himself is a voiceover talent having recorded for Ford, Totto, Telmex, Claro and GlaxoSmithKline, amongst many others and also works as a Director to guide other voiceover talents.

    This session provided a great overview of the different online and offline marketing techniques that exist. I expected a bit more detail on how to actually go about putting them into action, so if that’s what you are looking for you might be disappointed.

    • the 3-hour course in the autumn will be addressing this Nikky. There’s a limit to what can be covered in one hour. But it was a great introduction.
