About the Video

To transcreate or just translate? On Transcreation: What it is and what it takes.

There has been a lot of discussion about “Transcreation” lately. Among the many services that translators can offer, this is certainly one of great interest. But what is it really? Is it just a “good translation”, as some argue? Or is there more to it? This webinar provides a hands-on definition of what it is, when it is required (and when not!), what expertise and approach it requires, how  to estimate and calculate the time and effort that goes into a transcreation job and not least, how to explain to clients what it takes and what it costs. Even if you think that transcreation is something you don’t want to offer as part of your service portfolio, you should be able to explain to your clients why you don’t offer it and refer to colleagues who do.  And who knows – maybe after this webinar you feel like venturing into this field after all?

Recommended for:

Translators of all specialities, with and without previous transcreation experience. Even if you think that transcreation is something you will never want to offer, you should at least be able to explain to clients what it is. And why you offer it and why you don’t – clients expect translators to be able to cover it all.

All webinars are recorded: if you miss the live session, you will be able to view the recording later. Please ensure you have registered before the time of the webinar to ensure you receive the recording link.
