How you can help vulnerable people all over the world – by donating words
Translators are able to help victims of natural and human disasters by ensuring that vital information is provided in a language they understand. Find out how you can donate your skills and expertise to this charitable foundation.
Translators without Borders (TWB) is a non-profit organisation offering language and translation support for humanitarian and development agencies, and other non-profit organisations on a global scale. Now, for the third time, eCPD has teamed with TWB to show you the work of the organisation, and how you can help. You can volunteer with TWB if you are fluent in at least one language other than your native language. Professional translators are especially encouraged to apply.
On 6 December 2017, at 11:30 am (GMT) Dona Petkova, Translators without Borders (TWB) Project Officer, will present the work of TWB. By working with a community of over 20,000 volunteer language professionals, TWB provides over 10 million words of translated content to other nonprofits annually in a range of innovative and accessible formats appropriate to the language needs of the intended audience. Dona will talk through the volunteer language opportunities at TWB and how you can get involved in this exciting and impactful work.
NOTE: The webinar will be recorded so if you cannot make the live event, register anyway to receive the recording link a little later.
